put together in groups

When we got put in the groups composed of Harvey,Millie, Alex and me we started thinking of what idea we should pick. It was really difficult because we all liked each others and our first decision was it to combine Millies and my idea because we thought they could work the best together.

We created a mind map and after that we realised that Harvey whos idea was the most exotic was actually something we wanted to go for because it was very different to any other idea.

We wrote down his idea and as a group began to switch things and change them around. 

Millie and Harvey drew the story board and we started to get all the scenes together. We used a church choir as an inspiration for the music choices in our opening scene.

When a other Media teacher came into our lesson to listen to our ideas we began to understand that transforming the idea into an actual thriller would take quite a few obstacles to overtake. We touch on the topic religion which is always difficult to use aswell as finding a matching location would be very hard. Then he introduced us to the ‚‘one idea’ and asked us if we would take out the two main characters who are a priest and a noun, if the idea would still work. And said if it wouldn’t we should think about changing things. We having taken his ideas and inspirations on board and will change our idea but also keep many of the things as we intially wanted.

Research for these Props:

Ø  Knives-props knives are easily obtainable from online shopping websites, like amazon, and they cost about £3, although we only need a few of them

Ø  Rucksacks-these are about £10-£20 but most of the group will mostly already have a black backpack, so we won’t have to buy new ones

Ø  Netting-thick netting would cost about £10 from an online website

Ø  Padlock-this cost just under £5

Ø  Polaroid-we would only need one polaroid photograph which could be arranged without costing any money

Ø  Maps-a couple of maps would be easily obtained through asking the geography department

Ø  Petrol Canister-our teacher is able to provide us with a red jerry can

Ø  Baseball bat-a baseball bat would cost about £20 but some of our group happen to have some which we can use

Ø  Hockey Stick-although this cost £15, we can use old ones from the school

Ø  Nails-nails would cost £5 for a large number, although the school can supply us with them

Ø  Barbedwire-barbed wire is under £10, although once again obtainable for free through the school

Ø  Chainsaw-this would likely be our most expensive purchase given that it averages at £80 in price. However we can take it away from our sequence if this is the case, with that said the maintenance staff  at school have said that with permission we might be able to make use of theirs for free.

The movie "Eden Lake" that has a similar story line about a teenage gang made out of boys and girls that brutally interact with a young couple and a hunt that leads into capture beginns to form.The movie is produced in a cooperation betweenRollercoaster Films and Aramid Entertainment Fund. The box office for the movie was $5,824 in the US where it was shown on ten screens on the first weekend and made £192,027 in the Uk where it was shown on 184 screens. The production is a low budget production.The target audience for the movie are especially british but generally western 15-24 years old teenagers because the movie is rated A15 and I feel like the older the audience gets the harder it is to relate due to the young age of the acters. 

I would say that the target audience is relatively educated as different to our thriller which is about the racial problems. The movie shows how on the one side the posh couple go on a weekend trip to the lake as well as the group of chavvy teenagers who bring an aggressive pitbull with them and they begin to form an argument. 
During the film more and more context behind the behaviour of the teenage gang is revealed after their abusive family member are shown.

For our thriller sequence I would say that the people should be educated to a higher degree like boys and girls in University as it touches upon racism and newsworthy topics due to our muslim victom.

Our target audience would be between 18-25, and as the gang is made out of boys and girls it makes it even more suspense.

For our characters and cast we thought of 4- 5 teenage boys who  we could transform to look quite english and chavvy.
